Why You Need To Watch "Stargate SG-1"

Stargate SG-1 follows the story of Colonel Jack O'Neill play by Richard Dean Anderson and his team as they travel through an ancient interplanetary transportation device known as the Stargate. They overcome countless trials and hardships to save our world and the entire galaxy from a parasitic alien race that seeks to enslave humanity.

One of the best aspects of this show is the well written believable character relationships that are only magnified near perfect by the chemistry between the cast members. SG-1, the lead team, is made up of four members.  Colonel Jack O'Neill ( Richard Dean Anderson), Captain Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), Daniel Jackson ( Michael Shanks), and Teal'c (Christopher Judge).

Overall I'd say Stargate is a great show because it accomplishes the difficult task of combining just the right amount of comedy, drama, and emotional moments. From the very first episode, you are invested in the characters and want to see them succeed. Over the course of the show, you come to love their faults and weaknesses just as much as their strength.

Colonel Jack O'Neill is the fearless team leader. He often plays the part of the class clown to hide his intelligence but he is just as capable as everyone else. Aside from being a brilliant leader, he is kind, empathetic, and 100% in love with Sam :)

Often times the strength to become his faults when he cracks a joke at the expense of the wrong person or entirely disregards orders to save innocent civilians. Jack's poor decisions make him relatable. He's just a human being trying to do the right thing to the best of his abilities and, like all of us, sometimes things go wrong.

Stargate is my all-time favorite show and probably always will be because you just can't find that kind of quality entertainment anymore.

Stargate combines amazing world-building with unparalleled characters to create a family-friendly(ish) show that can be re-watched hundreds of times.
